BEIJING, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday spoke of the need to put in place a clear-cut framework for China-U.S. relations amid the most complex situation since the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations in 1979.

Noting that the situation in Hong Kong has improved markedly since the promulgation and enforcement of the law on safeguarding national security, the spokesperson said the Chinese government will remain firmly committed to the implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle, and resolutely oppose interference in Hong Kong affairs by any external forces.
The port dealt with 495 China-Europe freight trains with 45,600 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) of cargos in July, up 55.17 percent and 55.1 percent year on year respectively, said Long Teng, a staff member with the customs.
The medical supplies, including 16,000 masks and 100 infrared thermometers, were presented on behalf of the Fujian Provincial People's Association for Friendship.
China is always a firm defender of the international order and the international system. Since the founding of New China more than 70 years ago, the country has never started a war, or occupied an inch of land of others, Wang noted.
Practice is the sole criterion of truth, Wang said. "Does China's system work for the country? The Chinese people know better than anyone else."
The United States is also seeking to drive a wedge between China and countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and disrupt the consultation process of the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea, Wang added.
Such a blatant act of bullying runs against the World Trade Organization's principles of openness, transparency and non-discrimination and has exposed the hegemonic nature of the world' sole superpower.

The Chinese Consulate-General in Houston was the first consulate-general opened by China in the United States after the establishment of the diplomatic ties, and it was always an important symbol of China-U.S. friendship, Wang said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.
